In the second half of the 20th century, Florence Knoll, Charles and Ray Eames, and Milo Baughman created furniture designs that helped define the mid-century modern era of American furniture. Their sculptural designs, intentionally created to be viewed from all sides, had backs that were just as attention grabbing as their fronts and sides. With sleek modern lines, stunning silhouettes and tapered forms, Knoll, Eames and Baughman ushered in a new vocabulary in interiors and a new era for home furnishings.
At Thayer Coggin, we're proud to produce the innovative furniture that Milo Baughman envisioned. Our Milo Baughman Collection is made by hand by master craftspeople working in the same studios that have produced these classic designs for the last 60 years.

Drop In

Originally conceived in 1968, the Drop In beckons for everyone to pop in and drop into its comfort zone. New for 2016 are four modular sectional units by Guy Hill. The compact, polished stainless steel or brushed bronze frame belies the considerable comfort of the ultra plush seats and backs of the Drop In series. Timeless in form, the Drop In is a design classic that will work in a variety of interiors from open concept to intimate spaces. The new modular sectional items join our ever-popular Milo Baughman Drop In sofa and arm chairs as part of the Drop In series.
Colours
Designed by Guy Hill
Architectonic and timeless, our new Colours cocktail tables will enhance the glamour of any room. Colours features smooth slip-matched maple veneer tops available in either ebony or white.
The versatile tables' base is available in our highly polished stainless steel or brushed bronze and come either in a slim rectangular shape or the classicly modern square. Created by design director Guy Hill, our Colours tables share the modern lines and passion for sumptuous materials which Mr. Hill's friend and mentor, Milo Baughman, so presciently added to the mid-century modern vocabulary.
Lester
Designed by Ransom Culler
Taking cues from Milo Baughman, Ransom Culler designed our new Lester lounge chair and ottoman with clean simple modern lines.
Mixing sophisticated comfort with Baughman sculptural silhouettes, Lester is a charmer that will never cease to impress. The Lester lounge chair and ottoman feature an architectural combination of wood and metal (either polished stainless steel or brushed bronze). Lester's unique solid maple wood deck is available in any of our TC wood finishes. Intentionally created to be viewed from all sides, Lester has a back that is just as attention grabbing as its fronts and sides. Combining Baughman-esque DNA and luxuriously comforting polyblendown and fiber cushions, Lester is a new modern classic.
